I thought I’d start this thread since I just bought a new D300 and I’ve read a lot about the camera recently. I see a lot of people with questions asking for help and I thought I would compile some useful links in this thread for beginners as well as other folks Hopefully, with the help of the kind folks here, we can make this a very informative thread.

First, there’s the owners manual, which you can download here for easy reading on your PC/Mac

Stephen Johnson Photography

Stephen Johnson is one of my favorite photographers.
Stephen Johnson is a photographer, designer and teacher. His photographic work has concentrated on landscape projects - exploring wild, endangered spaces, and human altered lands, while focusing on soft color and abstract design. He has also worked on refining the new tools of digital photography with the hope of empowering individual artists to use these tools to express their ideas.

Amp’d posted a reply:

Hi, my name is Donna and I am from West Virginia I have a few favorite shots one of which has over 1500 views and many many favorites *that’s nothing compared to some people with 1000’s of views and faves* but I am new to Flickr and I’m proud to have a photo with that many views even if it is only one, but this is one of my newest shots and I love it. The reason why it’s my favorite is because I have self taught myself photography and photoshop cs3 and it has been hard, a whole lot of reading and more reading and when I look at this picture I feel all my hard work studying has paid off.
