Reply to Where are you from and whats your favourite shot ?

Check out this post from U&I Magazine:: Submit your photos for the next issue!:

Amp’d posted a reply:

Hi, my name is Donna and I am from West Virginia I have a few favorite shots one of which has over 1500 views and many many favorites *that’s nothing compared to some people with 1000’s of views and faves* but I am new to Flickr and I’m proud to have a photo with that many views even if it is only one, but this is one of my newest shots and I love it. The reason why it’s my favorite is because I have self taught myself photography and photoshop cs3 and it has been hard, a whole lot of reading and more reading and when I look at this picture I feel all my hard work studying has paid off.

Friday Tip - Lens Vignetting

Check out this post from Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips:

Think of this tip as a public service announcement. I’ve seen many questions on how to get Lightroom’s Lens Vignetting slider to work on cropped photos when you want to darken the edges of a photo. See, the vignette (edge darkening) gets added to the original uncropped image - regardless of the crop you’ve applied. It actually kind of make sense. Think of it this way. The Vignetting adjustment wasn’t really added so we could use it to darken edges creatively. It was added to counteract the effects of lens vignetting with certain lenses (especially when shooting wide open). Since you’d only be removing a vignette from the entire uncropped image it makes sense that it works this way. It’s really only later that people started using this creatively. Anyway, currently (as of Lightroom 1.3) there is no way to change this. So if you find you’d like to slightly darken the edges you could always edit the photo in Photoshop. Then click the Filter menu, choose Distort > Lens Correction and use the Vignette settings in there. That said, make sure you ease up on the settings for this. The edge darkening technique looks nice when used sparingly but tends to look too fake when used at too high of a setting.

LightroomAfter a short delay to workaround a late-breaking issue, SlideShowPro for Lightroom is now available for purchase and download.
Most everything I’d type here about the product you could just as well read on the page linked above, so I’ll take this opportunity to write about something else. First, my thanks to John Nack, Tom Hogarty and especially Andy Rahn at Adobe for their accessibility and assistance during the development cycle. Considering how little I knew about Lightroom’s API and available functionality, it was incredibly useful to have a team of people “on the inside” to provide support when needed.
Second, if you already have Lightroom installed, you will need to grab the new 1.3 update first before installing. There are some particular things that went into the 1.3 build (as part of our beta testing involvement) that are required in order for the gallery to work, so be sure to grab that in advance.
